Student Life
Beyond the classroom, day students and boarders experience the full vibrancy of Academy life. They can try out an array of sports and creative activities, and put their skills to use for others in their service learning projects.

“We must... infuse our students with what I would call three “A’s” of modern learning – the spirit of anticipation, the spirit of adaptation and the spirit of adventure. This will happen best in learning environments which are both serious and focused on the one hand, but which are also joyous and inspiring places, operating on the cutting edge of pedagogy and knowledge.”

A Rewarding Experience
“The Academy’s distinct hallmarks are the Aga Khan Curricular Strands of Ethics, Cultures, Governance and Civil Society, Pluralism, and Economics for Development. These Strands not only add a unique aspect to the IB curriculum offered at the Academies, but they also play a significant role in shaping working professionals to become leaders in their field of expertise.
My time at the Academy has been an incredible opportunity. The fellowship enabled me to challenge myself and acquire new skills by working with diverse groups within and outside the Academy. I especially enjoy serving as a DP mentor, curating virtual fundraising campaigns and overseeing TEDxYouth@AKAMombasa. Being a part of this unique working model, where I am able to exercise flexibility to try new things and propose creative solutions to challenges, has been a rewarding experience.”
