The Aga Khan Academies Network offers an outstanding education to exceptional students of all ages and from all backgrounds. Academies in Dhaka (Bangladesh), Hyderabad (India), Maputo (Mozambique) and Mombasa (Kenya) are open for applications.

Who Should Apply?
Our students come from diverse economic, cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds. All students are motivated to learn, have a strong sense of integrity and respect others.
Successful applicants also have an outstanding academic record or strong academic potential. They have typically demonstrated leadership in community service, student government or other activities, or are accomplished in the visual or performing arts. They have a high level of social awareness and the desire to work for positive change.
How are Candidates Chosen?
The admissions committee selects students according to a competitive process, where their cognitive, literary, mathematical, problem-solving, creative and leadership abilities are assessed. Students also interact with the staff through an interview.
The Academies aim to select the best students regardless of their families’ ability to pay. We try to meet each student’s demonstrated financial needs.
Our Campus Locations

AKA Dhaka
Opened in 2022, the Academy in Dhaka is based on a 17-acre site near Bashundara for students aged three to 18. The design for the Academy received the award for best ‘Future Education’ project at the World Architecture Festival 2017.
AKA Hyderabad
Set on 100 acres gifted by the state government near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, the Academy in Hyderabad is home to 167 residential students and 551 day students.
AKA Maputo
Situated on 54 acres donated by the Mozambican government, the Academy in Maputo is 20 kilometres away from the city centre. It offers students aged three to 18 with high-quality education.
AKA Mombasa
With students from four continents, the 18-acre Academy is as diverse as its host city. It opened in 2003 and has been recognised by Microsoft as the only Showcase School in East Africa.
