Students at AKA Maputo enjoy the academic facilities across the campus, which inspire and promote their educational journeys.

Academics Facilities

AKA Maputo’s campus offers students an inspirational learning environment. Students at each stage of their academic journey study in purpose-built classrooms, labs, workshops and other spaces for discovery, tailored to their needs.

“The Commons is my favourite spot on campus – not just because it’s where we eat, but because it’s where I see cultures come together and connect without barriers. Along with Moyo – which means ‘the heart’ – I believe the Commons is also the heart of our Academy: a true melting pot of diversity.”

Becoming Scientists at AKA Maputo

“AKA Maputo has helped me develop my knowledge and build new habits. The teachers and the excellent facilities have both supported my learning, and I’ve seen the school develop since its early days.

The science lab facilities are great; they are big enough to fit a large number of students. The labs have sinks at every table, and they have showers for emergencies. We can carry out science experiments like real scientists under our teacher’s supervision.

Each subject has its own lab for biology, physics and chemistry. The labs also have some type of equipment, which can help as a visual for practical work. For example, the biology labs have a human body model as a visual for students.

Overall, the science lab facilities play a big role when we are at school. It helps keep us safe and at the same time have a good learning time.”
