Peter McMurray, Academies Unit/Head of the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa and Sher Lakhani, former Head of the Academy in Mombasa, have just finished an intensive visit to Canada. One of the main aims of the visit was to meet with Canadian educators, to present the Academies initiative and to assess interest in possible future positions at the Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa.

Presentations were given in Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver and were very well received. More than 500 people attended, and interviews were subsequently conducted with many potential candidates.

Attendees were particularly interested in exploring employment and/or volunteering opportunities at the Academy in Mombasa; gaining specific information on the positions available; the academic and professional requirements sought; and learning more about Mombasa and the area surrounding the Academy.
