Stomping by students.

Rhythm at the Academy

Stomping has long been a popular and highly appealing musical style performed at AKA Hyderabad.

Deviating from the traditional practices of using musical instruments, this form of music is created through drumming beats on recycled items and everyday tools, such as plastic containers, tin boxes, cycle parts, etc.

Stomping at the Academy was started in 2018 by Telugu teacher and departmental head Dr Saikrishna Ranga with only 10 students. Soon, it became a favourite activity among students because of its uniqueness and energising rhythmic beats.

Starting with the idea that music can be created anywhere and with anything, the art form gained popularity. Today with more than 70 students, stomping has become one of the more eccentric and engaging art forms represented on campus.

Mapping Dreams Through Poetry

Grade 8 student and young author Arunima Ghosh published her first collection of poetry, “Mapping My Muse”.

A passionate writer since the age of seven, Arunima has been deeply inspired by the strong culture of reading, writing and reflection at AKA Hyderabad. From engaging language classes that spark imagination to thoughtful library periods that encourage exploration and self-expression, the Academy has nurtured the author in Arunima.

These experiences have helped her refine her voice, experiment with style and convey her thoughts with depth, emotion and clarity.

Her poems, inspired by school life, society and her beloved dog, beautifully balance sensitivity and honesty, reflecting how the Academy’s nurturing environment has shaped her into a confident, creative and thoughtful young poet.
