Kelvin Bagthariya, DP2 student at Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad, believes the Academy has changed his mindset, teaching him to become independent, improving his self-esteem and allowing him to pursue his passion to make a positive change in his community.

Passionate about animal rights, Shaivya Arya has used every opportunity possible to learn how to care for animals. “To save an innocent creature’s life, to help animals. It is time we make this a better world for us, for them, for all.”

Anjum Budhwani always wanted to teach at the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad, and has brought the same energy into her teaching since her first day. Every day at the Academy has been special for her. “Compassion builds a strong relationship between teacher and student,” she says.

Sincere, kind and down-to-earth. These are some of the words many at the Academy have repeatedly used to describe the Diploma Coordinator at the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad.

“When we started out, we knew we had to set the standard for what the future would hold. The vision and the philosophy of His Highness the Aga Khan has been taught to us since when we were children; to see a culmination of this in the form of a school that aspires to raise leaders of tomorrow was immensely gratifying."

Jemin Patel’s journey to where he is now is the result of hard work and passion, values he picked up during his time at the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad. Now, he's working at one of Canada's top accounting and consulting firms, still standing by the notion, "hard work always wins."

Anahita Aman, a graduate of the Class of 2020, studied at the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad for eight years. Currently pursuing history at the University College London, she hopes to build a career in international development.

Embarking on a mission to instill a profound sense of responsibility and compassion, the Academy's commitment to animal welfare and the CAS initiative finds its nexus in a meaningful collaboration with The Blue Cross of Hyderabad. 

As part of their CAS project, DP 1 students visit young orphan girls of Rainbow Homes, Hyderabad, to provide them with better education, care and other amenities necessary for a quality life.

Students and staff at the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad met with faculty and staff from Huron University, including President and Vice Chancellor of Huron University Dr Barry Craig, to strengthen the university’s partnership with the Aga Khan Schools.

The newly recruited teachers underwent a two-day IB-recognised professional development on the campus, led by PYP Coordinator Mr Abhimanyu Das Gupta, an IB workshop leader.

Five women graduated from the Aga Khan Academies’ TPP during an evening ceremony. The TPP, a multi-phase programme, is designed to train local teachers to become IB-certified teachers.

AKA Hyderabad signed an MoU with the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) to collaborate on teacher training and scholarships.

A two-day excursion to the Ajanta and Ellora Caves, specifically designed for DP1 and DP2 art students, presented a unique chance to learn about art from the marvellous sculptures and murals that adorn the walls of the caves.

The Academy’s Senior School art teacher Mr Visweswara Brahmanapalli gave a talk on ‘Why do we seek knowledge?’ to DP1 theory of knowledge students.

Grade 3 students recreated the bazaars of Hyderabad in the Junior School last week. Junior School parents, teachers and students of all the grades across the school were invited to witness the gala affair.

A group of students from DP1 and DP2 launched a service project called 'Unsung Heroes: The Wellness Ripple Effect' to recognise and celebrate the hard work and dedication of the support staff at the Academy.

AKA Hyderabad organised the 6th Inter District Mountain Biking Championship, Telangana in cooperation with the Telangana Cycling Association.

Reaching the Everest Base Camp is a once-in-a-lifetime achievement, and it takes a great deal of preparation. The students were prepared for freezing weather and had the equipment to hike great distances at high altitudes.

AKA Hyderabad hosted 90 students from the Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Residential School for a fun day filled with sports.

Aftikhar Mominzada joined AKA Hyderabad six years ago from Afghanistan. This summer, he will graduates from the Academy and will be accepting a full scholarship at the University of Alberta in Canada.

Recently awarded a full scholarship at Tufts University, Bahar Abbassi from Afghanistan is ready to graduate from the Academy with the Class of 2021. Bahar joined the Academy six years ago from Afghanistan.

AKA Hyderabad welcomes six students from Saurashtra, who have been selected for admission into Grade 7 at the Academy.
