Student Well-being
We understand the challenges of the IB, and ensure that our students have a well-rounded experience in a safe and supportive environment.
Joining the Family
We welcome students from many countries, cultures, faiths and socio-economic backgrounds. AKA Dhaka offers them intellectual, social, spiritual and physical growth in a friendly, structured and ethical environment.
Students meet their advisor regularly to discuss learning skills, course selection and other academic aspects of student life, as well as interpersonal relationships. We also have a counsellor on campus.
Our Health and Wellness Centre has a resident doctor assisted by a nurse. They liaise with local specialists as needed. Transport for medical purposes is available 24/7.
Our staff ensure that the campus is secure and safe, with supervision as needed for off-campus excursions.
Nurturing Emotional Resilience and Well-being
“At AKA Dhaka, student well-being is central to school life. Our whole-school, preventative and skills-based approach places each learner’s emotional and social development at the heart of education. Through one-to-one and group counselling, as well as life-skills and leadership lessons within the curriculum, we help students build resilience, empathy and sound decision-making.
Strong partnerships with staff and parents, alongside regular formative assessments and data-informed interventions, ensure timely support. Workshops on digital well-being, stress management and peer support provide practical coping strategies, while student-led initiatives promote ownership and community. By combining individual care with schoolwide prevention and prioritising inclusion, confidentiality and cultural sensitivity, we create an environment where every student can thrive.”
