Creative Activities

Our students benefit from a variety of expression activities, where they can think creatively, work together, learn new skills, exercise their perseverance and express their identities and thoughts.

Creativity and Culture

Students try out a wide range of activities across fields such as art, music and sports using purpose-built facilities such as our music rooms, amphitheatres and studios. They gain experience not only in their chosen activities, but in teamwork, perseverance, responsibility and leadership as they specialise during their senior years.

At AKA Dhaka, various enrichment programmes are offered after school twice a week for one hour. Students choose from a variety of age-appropriate clubs led by teacher supervisors or, in some cases, designed and run by students for students. While not all clubs have expert advisors, teachers provide guidance to ensure a safe and engaging environment for all participants.

Our activities take place according to demand, availability or student initiatives, and in recent years, students have been able to try:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Journalism
  • Music
  • Photography
  • Theatre

Building Character, On and Off the Stage

“Long before I ever discovered the allure of a stage, I found solace in the world of drama. From musicals to spontaneous skits and practised plays, drama has played an imperative role in shaping my identity. Theatre allows me to not only express myself but also comprehend the complexities of human nature through collaborative exploration or by reading revolutionary works by William Shakespeare, Arthur Miller and Eugene O’Neill.

Thus, our Academy has provided us with sophisticated facilities with ample space and the necessary equipment required for us to explore ideas through practice, performance and pedagogy. This versatile and holistic environment fosters creativity and empowerment through art. The stage is not only reserved for actors, but for all individuals who recognise potential and cultivate it with the desire to transform fantasies into reality.”

Creativity in Every Stroke

“I love art because it gives me a voice beyond words, a way to express emotions and thoughts that are often too complex to explain. When I paint or draw, I feel completely immersed in the process – the colours, textures and shapes come together to tell a story only I can create. It is calming yet exciting, a balance of freedom and focus that lets me explore who I am. Every piece begins as a blank canvas and slowly transforms into something meaningful, reflecting both my imagination and my feelings. Seeing my ideas come to life fills me with joy, and sharing them with others allows me to connect in ways that words alone never could.”
