AKA, Mombasa Selected as a Microsoft Showcase School

The Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa has been selected by the Microsoft Corporation to be a Showcase School. This elite status is given to only 150 schools across 75 countries worldwide, and the Academy is the only school in Eastern Africa and one of two schools in Sub Saharan Africa to be selected.

The Academy was selected as a Showcase School in recognition of excellence in transforming its learning environment to deliver more personalised education to students, and using mobile and cloud technology to better prepare students for success in the workplace.

As a Showcase School, it will work closely with Microsoft to lead innovation in education and communicate a vision for education enabled by technology through the hosting and mentoring of other schools in the community on transformational educational practices. 

The Academy was also acknowledged for its efforts in making learning an engaging and personalised experience for both students and educators.

Through the Showcase Schools programme, the Academy will be able to share ideas globally and support other schools in Kenya to improve learning and student outcomes through technology.
