AKA Hyderabad students bag awards in city-wide Model UN

On 9^th and 10^th February 2019, 22 students from the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad Senior School participated in the International School of Hyderabad Model United Nations, held at Microsoft Campus, Gachibowli. Eight members of the Academy MUN team had standout performances. Middle and senior school students from several city schools took part in the event.

Academy students brought back quite a few laurels from the two-day MUN. Zoya Virani won Best Delegate, and Kais Vasaya was nominated Best Photographer. Arshi Lalani was awarded Best Journalist, and Ali Charaniya, Anshuman Dutta, Karthik Pasham, and Faiz Pabani received honourable mentions. Aashan Lakhani received a verbal mention. 

Zoya Virani says, "It was a great learning experience! It is important to challenge ourselves and see how we fit in newer contexts." Over the years, the Academy has built a strong MUN foundation through participation and through organisation. MUNs develop research skills, public speaking ability, team building, writing and, of course, debating capabilities. We look forward to bigger wins in the years to come!
