AKA, Hyderabad Receives IB PYP Authorisation

The staff and students of the Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad’s Junior School are proud to announce the authorisation of our Primary Years Programme (PYP) by the International Baccalaureate (IB). We can now confidently call ourselves an IB World School.

The authorisation report submitted by the school visit team includes several commendations that bear testimony to the fact that the PYP practices at the Junior School far exceed the requirements of the IB Standards and Practices. The school was given a pat on the back for the high level of commitment in promoting a strong culture of inquiry, the development of a professional learning community, development of extensive policies and procedures that reflect the requirements of the programme and for empowering students to take responsible action within and beyond the school community. This is indeed a glowing report for a school that is less than three years old.

The visiting team derived the information from conversations with students, parents, teachers and the pedagogical team as well as their observations of classes in session.
